Welcome to My Movement Blog

What is this place?

Welcome to my online space. In theory, I love to write and always thought a blog would be a great outlet. I started this one month and two days before Covid-19 shut down our city and the health club where I wield the lofty title of Director of Mind Body Programs. I have a house, a husband and a kid. I am sometimes successful and sometime fail miserably with all of it.

Am I a little too late? Is blogging even a thing anymore? Will anyone actually read this? Are we only capable of reading those easily digestible micro blogs on Insta? I continue to deny TikTok headspace. Are podcasts our only means of taking in lots of words at a time? Are any of these good enough reasons to not try this? Never. So here it is, my lovelies, my blog.

I plan to share what I can about my work. That should include a lot about patience, fostering growth in the people that work for you, Pilates, the GYROTONIC® Method, Yoga, hospitality. You can also expect a good deal about the challenges that come with motivating people to live their best lives, as well as motivating myself to do the same. There might also be some stuff about parenting (which has taught me more about managing people than actually managing people), marriage, and home improvement. To protect the innocent, I guarantee that all the names have been changed and any similarity to people you may think that I know is completely coincidental….or at least that is the story I will be taking to my grave.

In all seriousness, I’m sharing my experiences in the hope that they might help you run your business, inspire you in your workouts, help your through a difficult client scenario or otherwise, somehow, move you. Moving people in all sorts of ways is kind of my thing.

Be Kind When You Rewind

When I was younger, I used to break my heart on New Year’s Eve. Hard. As a natural born dreamer, I was always so full of expectations that I would start the night full of hope and wishes, and by 1am, I’d be sad and disappointed with the outcome of the night. I can think…
